About these numbers
Career games are NHL regular-season games played, summed across each team's roster (switch to Playoffs for postseason games). A player with no NHL games counts as zero. Tap a team to see its players.
Rosters are each team's NHL roster as listed by PuckPedia on October 1, 2026: the active players, suspended players, and players on injured reserve or long-term injured reserve. Suspended players always count, since they count against the 23-man roster limit; the injured reserve switch above leaves injured players out. Players assigned to the minors and unsigned players never count. Teams have 21 to 29 players with injured players counted and 20 to 24 without, so use Per player to compare teams of different sizes. Injured and suspended players are tagged in each roster.
The 2026–27 season opened September 29, so totals include games through September 30. Fifteen teams have played once and Toronto twice, which adds about 19 games per game played. Leaving those games out doesn't change the team-total ranking.
The NHL's own roster listings mix in players who are in the minors and leave out some injured players (Anaheim's lists 33 players), so the rosters come from PuckPedia rather than the NHL.
